IDEA

The UnCounsellor works through The Zen Door & The Fool Method Story Therapy. Zen is the soil — the ground of seeing — in which the Fool Method can take root and bloom. The Zen Door is not a belief system, but a way of sensing the world as it is: immediate, unfiltered, and alive with quiet intelligence. Zen reminds us that the mind is not something trapped inside the skull. We are held inside a larger mind — the universal mind — and when we recognise this, we begin to see life in beauty rather than fear. Richard Bach expressed this in Illusions: “A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed… But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons.” This is exactly the work of The UnCounsellor — to help you rise just high enough, through Zen clarity and story awareness, to see the patterns that shape your life, and then to live with intelligence, freedom, and ease.

The Fool Method Story Therapy grew from a very simple realization: the mind cannot be healed in pieces. Our thoughts, emotions, memories, relationships, and environment all shape one another, and they all speak through the story we carry. Some of that story is conscious, much of it is not. Symbols from the past, old emotional patterns, unspoken wounds, inherited beliefs — they form the script we begin to live without even noticing. The Fool Method helps us see this script clearly, without fear or judgment. It listens to the language of the body, the imagination, the nervous system, and the quiet places where pain hides as protection. It brings in gentle tools — new ways of seeing, new ways of speaking to ourselves, new ways of understanding emotion — so the story can loosen and begin to change. Not by force, not by positivity, but by awareness.
It is shaped by the best of psychology and science — Bateson’s ecology of mind, Capra’s systems view, Jung’s symbolic understanding, the Science of Happiness, NLP, and Gabor Maté’s trauma insight — but expressed through simple human clarity.
When the story shifts, the mind breathes. And when the mind breathes, life becomes possible again.

ABOUT

Most people use only a small fraction of their mind’s capacity for clarity, peace, and happiness. Not because anything is missing inside them, but because the mind becomes trapped in a single repeating story — shaped by habit, fear, memory, and old emotional patterns. The UnCounsellor — The Zen Door & The Fool Method Story Therapy helps you step outside that story, so the rest of the mind can come alive. This work is not about fixing who you are, but freeing the intelligence, space, humour, and emotional ease that were always there — simply waiting to be used.

Every person lives inside a story, whether they know it or not. It shapes everything — how they think, speak, choose, eat, dress, work, love, react, and even how they cry or laugh. The story decides what feels possible and what feels forbidden. It dictates how much happiness they allow, how they handle disappointment, and what they fear when no one is watching. Change a person’s music playlist, and you will feel their story shift — because every preference, habit, and emotional reflex is connected to the narrative they are carrying. The UnCounsellor helps people see this story clearly, instead of being ruled by it. Once the pattern is visible, it can be loosened, questioned, and rewritten. Not with borrowed ideas from culture or circumstance, but with a story that is consciously chosen — one that supports a calmer mind, an honest life, and a happiness that does not collapse under pressure.

THE I STORY

There is no prison greater than a story, and no sky freer than a story. The same narrative that keeps a person stuck, afraid, or small can also become the doorway to clarity, ease, and strength — if it is seen, understood, and reshaped. The real work is not to escape story, but to find the right one: a story that fits your life, supports your nature, and allows your mind to breathe. The UnCounsellor has developed a clear and effective way to help you identify that story, and then train it — not with force, but with intelligence, awareness, and practice. When the story changes, behaviour changes. When behaviour changes, life changes. And in that shift, a person discovers that happiness and success were not distant goals, but capacities waiting for the right narrative to hold them.

WHO IT IS FOR

The Fool Method Story Therapy is suitable for individuals of all ages — from children to elders — because every mind operates within a narrative framework. In this work, I begin with the specific issue that is currently causing distress: academic pressure, workplace stress, family dynamics, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent feeling of being stuck. From that starting point, I help you identify the underlying story that shapes the problem, and trace how this narrative extends into other areas of life — often without conscious awareness. Once the story becomes visible, we begin the redesign process: replacing it with a narrative that is clearer, healthier, and more conducive to well-being. I then assist you in recognizing and dissolving the internal obstacles that prevent this new story from taking root. For those who are comfortable with symbolic systems, tools such as astrology, tarot, vastu, or the I Ching may be used—not as predictions, but as psychological mirrors. For those who prefer a non-symbolic approach, I employ The I Theatre, a narrative method grounded in story and self-observation. Whichever path is chosen, the aim remains constant: to free the individual from a limiting narrative and to establish a story that allows space, clarity, and genuine emotional freedom.

Two groups that benefit especially deeply from this work

1. Children and Adolescents
Children and younger minds often live inside stories they did not choose — shaped by family dynamics, school pressure, comparison, fear, or silence. When needed, I work directly with children, teens, and young adults, helping them see and loosen these stories before they harden into lifelong patterns. Sessions for anyone under 18 are conducted with parental consent, and may be held with or without the parent present — depending on what best supports the child’s emotional safety and freedom of expression.

2. Those living under the shadow of predictive fear
Many thoughtful people silently suffer because of something they were told through astrology, tarot, vastu, or the I Ching — a negative chart, a warning, or a fixed prediction that created anxiety and shaped their decisions. I do not dismiss these systems; I have studied them deeply. Instead, I help people understand the story they formed around the prediction — and free themselves from its psychological hold. The goal is not to argue with the symbol, but to release the fear, so the mind can think and live freely again.

The Fool Method Story Therapy is equally effective in couples and family contexts. Relationships, too, are held in place by stories — shared beliefs, unspoken roles, inherited emotional patterns, and repeated narratives that shape how people speak, listen, react, and interpret one another. In this work, I help couples and families identify the story they are living together, locate the patterns that create tension or distance, and bring forward a new narrative that allows for clarity, emotional safety, and mutual respect. Whether the issue is communication breakdown, unresolved conflict, emotional withdrawal, parenting stress, or the strain of life transitions, this method provides a structured, compassionate way to understand the shared story and reshape it so the relationship may breathe, heal, and grow.

The same principles apply beyond the individual — to teams, classrooms, organisations, and creative projects. Every group carries a story: a culture, a shared myth, a history, a set of assumptions about success, power, communication, and belonging. These collective narratives influence how people collaborate, innovate, handle conflict, respond to pressure, or silently disengage. Through The Fool Method Story Therapy, I help groups identify the story they are operating within, trace the patterns that limit effectiveness or well-being, and redesign the narrative so the system can function with greater clarity, trust, and creativity. Whether it is a school struggling with student overwhelm, a startup caught in burnout cycles, a team facing emotional fatigue, or a project that has lost coherence, the process remains the same: understand the story, reveal the pattern, release the obstacles, and replace fragmentation with a narrative that supports shared purpose, healthy dynamics, and meaningful progress.

Satee Bhave Hall

Satee Bhave Hall is The UnCounsellor — and the founder of The Fool Method of Story Therapy. Her work brings together Zen stillness, systems thinking, symbolic psychology, trauma insight, and narrative intelligence to help people understand and reshape the stories that govern their lives. She has written scripts for award-winning films, worked as a story consultant, and brings a lifelong engagement with narrative, meaning, and the inner life. She is also an NLP practitioner and holds a professional certificate in the Science of Happiness from the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. She has completed PredictionX at Harvard, a study of how cultures across time have used systems of prediction to navigate uncertainty, and she has studied Fritjof Capra’s course on The Systems View of Life, deepening her understanding of ecological and interconnected mind. Trained in multiple disciplines and informed by decades of inquiry, she chose not to enter traditional counselling because the method itself demands a different stance: one of equality, clarity, and shared inquiry rather than diagnosis or authority.

Why The UnCounsellor, and not a counsellor?
Because that is essential to the work.
The Fool Method is rooted in metalogue — a form in which both participants are equal, reflective, and engaged in the same unfolding inquiry. A traditional counsellor stands outside the problem, offering interpretation or a solution. As The UnCounsellor, Satee does something different. She sits within the story with you, not above it. She helps you see the patterns, the structure, the emotional logic, and the hidden narrative that shapes your experience. She brings clarity, systems awareness, symbolic insight, and space — not advice, not judgment, not diagnosis, and not authority. The method requires it. Only in that equality can the story loosen, reorganise, and finally become something that sets the mind free.

THE FOUR LEVELS OF THE UNCOUNSELLOR
STORY THERAPY

RESTORYING LIFE

1. SOLUTION–SEEKING

1 Session · One Question · Immediate Clarity
This is the simplest entry point. You bring one problem — a decision, a conflict, a stuck situation — and together we use the Fool Method to see it clearly and resolve it. This offers relief, insight, and direction. It is not a permanent story change, but it restores balance and gives you space to move forward.
For acute stress, urgent choices, or specific blocks.
A single meeting. No ongoing commitment.

2. INSIGHT–SEEKING

12 Sessions · 3 Months · One per week
This is where the deeper work begins. Over three months, we uncover the story that shapes your emotional life — where it came from, how it operates, and how it limits your freedom. You begin to see the “map” of your story: its logic, its triggers, its repeating patterns.
You also discover the alternative story — the one that supports clarity, resilience, and happiness.
This level brings:

  • intellectual understanding

  • emotional ease

  • the ability to prevent trauma cycles

  • a new way of approaching challenges

You begin to think in a new light.

3. TRANSFORMATION–SEEKING

24 Sessions · 6 Months · One per week
Now we go further. This stage is about rewiring habits, language, and internal responses. You learn how to train the mind — gently and consistently — so the new story becomes lived reality, not just insight.
You learn to:

  • replace emotional reflexes

  • dissolve old fear patterns

  • build inner stability

  • respond rather than react

  • live with more freedom, less pressure

This is where lasting change begins to take form.

4. THE FOOL METHOD LIFE DESIGN PROGRAMME

48 Sessions · 1 Year · A Story-Led Life
This is the full arc. A year of deep companionship, learning, and redesign. Here, I help you shape your life — choices, work, relationships, environment, habits — according to the story you consciously choose, rather than the one you inherited.
This is not traditional coaching.
This is life design from the inside out.
You emerge with:

  • a clearer self

  • an emotionally sustainable life

  • a story that supports strength and joy

  • the inner freedom to live it fully
